The client approached CR Construction with regards to installing two Bio-mass heating systems. It would be a joint venture with Highland Wood Energy (HWE). It would require the erection of a boiler house to store all the mechanical and electrical equipment and a hopper for storing the Bio-mass fuel. Both boiler houses were completely different. The hopper and the boiler house of one were built entirely with concrete blocks, with half of the façade being rendered and the other half clad with scotch larch. The other one had a boiler house built with concrete blocks and the hopper built with a 145mm x 45mm timber kit. The façade on the boiler house was rendered but the façade of the hopper was finished with board on board scotch larch
